Experience the new in Hawkes Bay

Introducing this month’s We Love New testimonial: Laura and Shaun, who are based in the beautiful Hawkes Bay.

Laura and Shaun knew they wanted to build new with David Reid Homes when they sat down to meet with Hawkes Bay Director Warren Jardine and his team. Shaun said that “we kicked it off on a really good foot; we enjoyed his company, he was easy to talk to, he understood what we were looking to achieve, and we didn’t look back from there”. Both Shaun and Laura were impressed with the quality of work David Reid Homes produce and loved working with our team to build their new four-bedroom, two-bathroom home. Laura and Shaun used to live in a one-bedroom flat so being able to design their dream home to include bedrooms for visiting guests felt “surreal”.


Featuring plenty of natural light welcoming the Hawkes Bay sun; the new 238m2 home sits on 2783m2 of land with stunning surrounding views of the green hillsides. Clean lines, neutral tones and warm woods display a Scandi style throughout the home. Lovely custom touches have been added by Laura and Shaun to further add to their vibe, including floating shelves and warm LED lighting in both the kitchen and living spaces. When friends and family come to visit their new home, most of them say it really feels “like it is a very Shaun and Laura home”.


From the kitchen with two dishwashers so they “don’t have to wash another dish”, to the wifi locks which enable them to unlock/lock the home anywhere in the world, to the ensuite with a double shower, to the spare rooms for guests to stay in; the couple have many aspects they love about their new home.
