David Reid Homes Waikato Open New Te Awamutu Pavilion Show Home

  • David Reid Homes Waikato has the pleasure of announcing a new show home for the region, located in the up and coming town of Te Awamutu.

This new show home is another exciting step for the David Reid Homes Waikato franchise’s new owner Paul Mens, who took over at the beginning of 2021. Previous owners Ben and Karina Green decided to make the move and open up a David Reid Homes franchise for the Coromandel and Hauraki region, leaving the legacy of the Waikato franchise in the capable hands of Paul.

Located in the Waipa District of the Waikato, the show home is located in the up and coming Frontier Estate, located in north-west Te Awamutu. Paul notes that the region is becoming increasingly popular, particularly with those relocating from Auckland who prefer the more relaxed pace of life (including very minimal traffic!)

David Reid Homes Waikato have worked hard to establish themselves within Frontier Estate, being the first company to get their show home complete, and they’re currently working on 7 homes in the exciting development.

The development itself aligns with Paul’s ethos of building quality custom designed and eco-efficient homes. The developer wanted the standard of homes for Frontier Estate to be high, one example of this is that all new homes in the development must be insulated 50% greater than NZ building code requirements for the area, contributing to creating warm and healthy homes.

Features of this show home which help this home get to this standard include fully Argon-filled double glazing throughout, reticulated natural gas heating, ducted heating and cooling, upgraded wall insulation and finally a Regency gas fireplace in the lounge.

Set on a corner, elevated 604 sqm site, this 4 bedroom, 2 bath and double garage home is a modest 220 sqm, showcasing the high quality and luxury custom designs you can achieve on any piece of land and with any budget. The section this home is on is fully developed, complete with neighbour-friendly fencing (painted on both sides).

The open plan Pavilion design of the home lends itself to the entertainer, with seamless indoor-outdoor flow between the lounge and partially covered hardwood decking. This flow is supplemented by the bench-height bi-fold windows which open out onto the back deck from the kitchen.

The designer kitchen is truly delightful, with the bamboo topped breakfast bar pairing with 20mm Silestone benchtop, which carries through to the scullery. This kitchen is finished to the highest of standards, including high quality Smeg European Appliances, polished concrete floors that flow through to the living area, which has a cozy ambiance, courtesy of the fireplace.

The sunroofs throughout create a light and airy feeling, with the open plan of the living areas having the option to be shut off by an impressive glass sliding barn door, to keep the warmth in during the winter months. Each room has the convenience of individual climate controlled air conditioning for comfort in the summer months also.

Paul feels his favourite part of this show home is the box seat by the window next to the fireplace, which looks back over the open plan living room area (and has a great view of the stunning gabled barn door which sections the area off). His team also love the unique built-in headboard in the master bedroom, which is a rustic timber (fitted with power on either side of the bed, too!), which continues the earthy, brown tones which are carried throughout the interior design of this home.

David Reid Homes extends our congratulations to Paul and the Waikato franchise, who’ve started off the 2021 year with a bang! We look forward to seeing what the David Reid Homes Waikato franchise showcase in their next show home (in Leamington, Cambridge) in 2022. We’re excited to continue expanding the service area of David Reid Homes, now in the quaint and budding Te Awamutu. Congratulations Paul and everyone who worked on this gorgeous home!
