The SBID awards have firmly established themselves as one of the most prestigious interior design awards in the global design calendar. The awards recognise, reward and celebrate design excellence across a broad range of categories.
Both kitchens were designed by Leonie Metge, manager and lead designer at Cube Dentro, and are finalists in the KBB Design Category of the SBID Awards. This category welcomes entries for kitchen, bedroom or bathroom design in a residential space.
The client brief for the kitchen in the David Reid Homes build at Karaka Lakes was very fluid, allowing Leonie and the team to create something crisp and contemporary.
To honour the brief, Cube Dentro designed the space with premium materials and a pared-back colour palette. The result is a generous workspace that connects with the overall aesthetic of the home and provides the homeowners with an indulgent, yet highly practical kitchen.
The kitchen designed for the David Reid Homes Whitford house embraces earthy, organic and coveted design, using only the finest materials available.
Leonie’s biggest challenge was finding a way to make a bold and complimentary statement within the dramatic context of the wider space.
The resulting kitchen features a lowered ceiling which helps to define the kitchen and create a more intimate space next to the living and dining areas, which have soaring cathedral ceilings and exposed steel beams.
With entries submitted from all across the world, the SBID awards are a sign of industry recognition that is second to none for the deserving winners.
Public voting is open until the 9th of September with the winners announced on Friday the 25th of October in London.
We wish Cube Dentro all the best and look forward to the results!
