David Reid Homes Northland has brought their experience in building quality homes to Vision Bay of Islands Retirement Village.  The finishing quality of our new homes at the village is some of the best we have seen.  DRH have been innovative in providing new ideas and design options whilst being mindful that we are developing to a fixed budget.  The construction process is one which doesn’t need to be over complicated and DRH play a crucial role in keeping the process simple and on track.  With longer term projects such as this one the key to success lies in keeping clear and frequent lines of communication which is something DRH do really well. Award Winning Home

As customers of David Reid Homes, we are very happy the way the build went, we had an excellent builder, and the house was built to a very high specification, which won Bronze Medal for House of the Year 2008.We were told it would be finished in the November, and they kept to that time, and for us that was most important. We are very happy with our lovely home, and our guests are very impressed with it as we run a Bed and Breakfast.

Removing the Stress

Long Distance Build

Having bought a section, we wanted to optimise our views of Kerikeri inlet.
David Reid Homes (Northland) Ltd and their whole design team supported us and enhanced the ideas we put forward for our new home. What was particularly impressive was that we were in the UK for all of the design phase and most of the build and yet we encountered very few problems. Regular e-mails and a few conference phone calls removed any anxiety we might have had with such a long distance build.
The quality of the finished house did not disappoint and the minor snags were quickly and efficiently rectified. We are now enjoying the features of our superb home and, even with the benefit of hindsight, there are very few things we would have done differently. Thank you, David Reid Homes (Northland) Ltd.

Custom Design

House Like No Other

We had 3 primary requirements from a builder selected to construct our home:
• The design had to maximize the potential views available from the block

• The builder had to have a solid reputation, especially in the area of working with owners who would not be in the country during much of the building phase

• The builder had to be willing to incorporate our ideas and wishes into the design and construction.

David Reid Homes was able to deliver on all counts.  Careful planning and design has led to a spectacular home with unique views from each room.  We were not present for 90% of the construction time but were kept informed regularly of progress and consulted as needed.  David Reid Homes was eager to incorporate our ideas and offered suggestions to make the house a custom design that looks like no other in New Zealand.

Attention to Detail

All We Could Want

We want you to know how happy we are with our new David Reid home.  The design is what we wanted, the workmanship is excellent (I speak as a perfectionist), and the finish is beautiful.  The performance and habitability of the house are all we could want.  We have been most impressed by the attention to detail and the determination on everyone’s part to get things right.  And now we’re in.   And getting our heads around the fact that this is our home, we’re growing to love it more and more!
